Android has one media volume for everything. AppVolume gives every app its own. Set a level once and it applies every time that app plays.
Features
Each app gets its own volume, from silent to full. Turn the game down and keep the podcast up, or make directions louder than the music.
Silence a single app without touching the rest. Everything else keeps playing at the level you left it.
Your levels are remembered and applied automatically every time that app plays. You can also set a level in advance for an app that is not playing yet.
Every app you set sits in one list by name, and it never jumps around when an app starts or stops. Apps that start playing show up above it, one tap away from a level of their own.
A Quick Settings tile opens the mixer over any app. There is also a mixer notification with mute, down and up buttons for the app that is playing, and a home screen widget.
AppVolume does not watch your screen or your volume keys, and it never hears, records or sends your audio. It only turns a level up or down.
How it works
Android protects other apps' audio, so AppVolume needs one permission that only the phone's own developer tools can give. The app walks you through it:
The permission stays through restarts and updates, so you do it once. Shizuku and root are also supported if you already use them. The pairing happens on the phone itself and nothing leaves it.
