Overview

Keebi ("the App") is developed and maintained by LLCloud Apps ("we", "us", "our"). Keebi is a keyboard for iPhone and iPad. It comes in two parts: the keyboard you type with, and the Keebi app where you set it up, change its settings and buy Pro. This policy explains what each part accesses, what leaves your device, and your rights.

The short version

What you type in your apps never leaves your device. The keyboard has no analytics and no crash reporting. Your typing, the words Keebi learns, your own dictionary and your clipboard history stay on your device, and we cannot see them. The one thing the keyboard ever sends is GIF search: with Full Access on, when you open GIFs it asks GIPHY for GIFs and sends the words you type into the GIF search. The Keebi app sends anonymous usage counts and crash reports so we can improve it, and its purchases go through Apple. There is no account, no advertising identifier and no ads.

The keyboard

What you type

Keystrokes are processed on your device to show suggestions and fix typos, and then they are gone. The keyboard does not keep a log of what you type and never sends it anywhere. It contains no analytics and no crash reporting. The only network requests it makes are the GIF requests described below, and only with Full Access on.

Without Full Access (the default)

iOS runs the keyboard in a sandbox with no network access at all, so it cannot send anything even in principle. Every Keebi feature works this way except the few extras listed below.

With Full Access (optional)

Full Access is a switch you can turn on in iOS Settings. iOS warns that it would let a keyboard send what you type. Keebi uses it only for clipboard history, GIFs, key haptics, speak keys, and syncing learned words and typing counts to the Keebi app on the same device. Apart from GIFs, none of these sends anything off your device. You can turn Full Access off at any time in Settings, and Keebi keeps working.

GIFs (GIPHY)

The GIF tab is powered by GIPHY, run by GIPHY, Inc. It works only with Full Access on, and only when you open the GIF tab. Results are limited to GIPHY's "g" rating, content suitable for all ages. Then the keyboard asks GIPHY for trending GIFs, and when you search, it sends the words you type into the GIF search, along with the keyboard's language and a content rating setting. As with any request on the internet, GIPHY also receives your IP address and basic device information. Nothing else you type is sent, and no account, name or user identifier goes with the request. GIPHY handles this data under its own privacy policy, and may keep search queries to run and improve its service. If you do not want this, leave Full Access off or do not use the GIF search.

Dictation

Keebi has no dictation of its own and never uses the microphone. The microphone iOS shows under the keyboard is Apple's dictation: iOS records and transcribes it under Apple's privacy policy, and Keebi only sees the text it types into your app, like any other text in the field.

Rewrite and proofread

Rewrite uses Apple's on-device model, part of Apple Intelligence. When you tap a style, the selected text, or the paragraph you are writing and the one before it, goes to that model on your device and the rewrite comes back. Keebi never sends it to Apple's cloud, to us or to anyone else, and does not store it. Keebi offers Rewrite only where the on-device model is available.

Speak keys

With speak keys on, each key is read out by the voice built into iOS, on your device. Nothing is recorded or sent. It is off by default and needs Full Access, because iOS lets a keyboard play sound only with it.

Language downloads

A few languages come with Keebi. When you add another one, the Keebi app gets its word list from the App Store, which delivers it as part of the app, the way it delivers app updates. The request names only the language, with no account, user identifier or anything you typed, and Apple handles it under its own privacy policy.

Learned words, your dictionary and clipboard history

Words Keebi learns, words you add or block, emoji you used recently and, with Full Access, your clipboard history are stored only on your device, in Keebi's own storage. They are not included in analytics, crash reports or diagnostics. You can review and remove learned words in the app. Clipboard history is off until you turn it on, keeps the last 20 items by default, and can be cleared at any time. Items that look like passwords or codes are masked and removed after 20 seconds by default.

Places iOS keeps for itself

In password fields and some other secure fields, iOS always uses Apple's own keyboard, so Keebi never sees what you type there.

Data the Keebi app collects

The Keebi app, not the keyboard, collects a small amount of technical data through the services below. None of it contains anything you typed, your learned words, your dictionary or your clipboard.

  • Usage analytics (Google Firebase Analytics): usage events such as onboarding steps, whether the keyboard is added and whether Full Access is on, settings changed, paywall views and purchases, along with device model, iOS version, app version, country and a random app instance ID that Firebase creates. Keebi does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) and does not ask to track you. Collection is off in test builds.
  • Crash reports (Sentry, EU region, Germany): if the Keebi app crashes or freezes, a technical report with the stack trace, device model, iOS version and app version is sent so we can fix it. The keyboard has no crash reporting.
  • Purchases (Apple App Store and RevenueCat): Keebi Pro, by subscription or as a one-time purchase, is processed by Apple. RevenueCat receives the purchase receipt and an anonymous app user ID to verify and restore Pro. We never see your payment details or your Apple Account.

All data sent by the App is encrypted in transit. We do not sell your data or share it with anyone for their own use. We do not use advertising identifiers, advertising SDKs, or any form of tracking across apps. Keebi shows no ads.

Diagnostics

Only if you choose to send one. The diagnostic report is a short text you see in full before sending it by email. It contains your device model, iOS version, Keebi's version and settings, whether the keyboard is added and has Full Access, your Pro status, and a timeline of app events. It never contains anything you typed, your learned words, your dictionary or your clipboard.

Third-party services

Data retention and deletion

Everything Keebi stores lives on your device and is deleted when you delete the App. You can also remove learned words and clear clipboard history in the App at any time. Analytics and crash data are retained by Google and Sentry, and GIF searches by GIPHY, under their own retention periods. To have that data deleted, email us at the address below.

Children

The App is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

We will update this page when the policy changes and update the date at the top.
