Repel blocks ads, trackers and malware domains, cuts off internet for the apps you choose, and switches Private DNS in one tap. Its firewall does not need the VPN slot, so your own VPN keeps working.
Features
A DNS filter blocks known ad, tracker and malware domains for every app on the phone, with trusted lists like HaGeZi, OISD, StevenBlack and AdGuard.
Cut off internet for any app without taking the VPN slot, so your real VPN keeps working. Rules stay in place even if Repel is closed.
Let an app online only on Wi-Fi, or only on mobile data. Repel re-applies the rules each time your network changes.
Switch the phone to AdGuard, Mullvad, Quad9, Cloudflare or NextDNS with one tap, and back to your old setting just as easily.
Add any hosts or Adblock-style list by address, block or allow single domains, and let chosen apps skip the filter.
A live activity log shows each lookup, the app behind it and whether it was blocked. Tap an entry to block or allow it. It never leaves the phone.
How it works
Turn on the filter and Repel starts blocking straight away. It uses a local VPN that carries only DNS lookups, so the rest of your traffic never passes through it and nothing goes to our servers. We have none.
For the firewall and one-tap Private DNS, connect Repel once to your phone's own Wireless debugging with the code Android shows you. No computer, no root and no Shizuku app. Firewall rules then live in Android itself and hold even if Repel is closed. After a restart Repel puts them back when it can reconnect, and tells you if it cannot. The firewall needs Android 13 or newer.
