Questions
How do I check my phone for dead pixels?
Show a full screen of each solid colour and look closely. A dead pixel stays black on every colour, a stuck pixel stays red, green or blue. This test cycles black, white, red, green, blue and two greys so each kind stands out.
How can I see screen burn-in?
Burn-in shows best on mid grey at high brightness. Look for faint outlines of the status bar, navigation bar or keyboard. Mild burn-in is common on OLED phones after years of use.
Can an always-on notification light cause burn-in?
Anything drawn in the same place for a long time can. That is why AuraDisplay moves its light slightly over time on the Always-On Display and keeps it small, so no single set of pixels lights up for hours.
Can dead pixels be fixed?
A truly dead pixel cannot be fixed without replacing the screen. A stuck pixel sometimes recovers after flashing colours for a while. If a new phone has dead pixels, contact the seller while it is under warranty.
